Setup and technical
Do I need to install anything?
No. MotJAM runs in the browser, so teachers can open the site, launch supported games, and use classroom tools without installing classroom software.
Does MotJAM work in browser?
Yes. MotJAM is built for modern desktop browsers with camera access. Chrome or another Chromium-based browser is usually the safest choice.
Which devices work best?
A laptop or desktop with a webcam, stable browser, and enough room for a student to stand in view works best. Brighter rooms usually improve tracking.
Does MotJAM work on weak laptops?
MotJAM is designed with classroom laptops in mind, but very old or overloaded devices may run less smoothly. Close extra tabs and apps if performance drops.
Why does the game ask for camera access?
MotJAM uses the browser camera for motion tracking, so students can move to answer, dodge, catch, or interact with game targets.
Is classroom video recorded?
No classroom video is intentionally recorded or stored by MotJAM. Camera access is used for live motion tracking during gameplay.
What if tracking stops working?
Try brighter lighting, keep active players closest to the camera, reduce background movement, then recenter or recalibrate if needed.
Can multiple students stand behind the player?
MotJAM works best when active players are closest to the camera and the background is reasonably clear. Other students can watch from the side or behind the play area when possible.
Does MotJAM support 2-player mode?
MotJAM is moving toward reliable two-player classroom tracking. Some activities may support two-player play as features become ready, but one active player or teacher-led group play is the safest beta setup.
What internet speed is needed?
A normal school or home broadband connection is enough for loading the app. Once a game is loaded, stable browser and camera performance matter more than high internet speed.
Gameplay and classroom use
Which ages/classes is MotJAM designed for?
MotJAM is built for teacher-led ESL/EFL classes, tutoring sessions, language centers, and small academies where movement can support classroom engagement.
Can I use MotJAM for ESL/EFL?
Yes. MotJAM focuses on vocabulary, spelling, speaking practice, classroom games, quiz activities, and daily classroom routines for English learning.
How long does setup take?
The goal is under two minutes: open MotJAM, choose a game, allow camera access, calibrate, and start the activity.
Can I use MotJAM for warmups and active practice?
Yes. MotJAM is meant for quick classroom energy: warmups, vocabulary practice, lesson breaks, end-of-class activities, and small-group practice.
Is MotJAM only for games?
No. MotJAM includes movement-based classroom games, Custom Lesson Sets, and Teacher Toolkit utilities for everyday class routines.
What is Teacher Toolkit?
Teacher Toolkit is a set of quick classroom utilities: Random Name Picker, Speaking Order, Spotlight Spinner, Team Generator, Student Stars, Team Scoreboard, and Classroom Timer.
Can I use MotJAM without launching a game?
Yes. You can use the toolkit for picking students, setting speaking order, making teams, tracking stars or scores, and timing classroom rounds even when you are not starting a motion game.
What games are included currently?
The current MVP portfolio is Bubble Pop, Letter Catchers, Alien Invaders, Crowd Quiz Chaos, and Monster Mic as each game becomes classroom-ready in the product.
Are more games coming?
MotJAM will grow carefully based on teacher feedback, reliability, and classroom reuse. The priority is stable launch games before expanding the library.
